1.      Check current version of software

To check version go to software installation folder (typically this is “C:\MPW”). Find file MPW.EXE, right click on it and select “Properties”. Go to tab “Details” and check item “File version”.

 

If current version earlier than 5.x.xxxx.x (for example 4.x.xxxx.x) you will need additional upgrade script. For details see step 5.

 

2.      Perform database backup (only for server)

To back up your database run SQL Server Management Studio and connect to SQL Server you are using with Millenium Enterprise. Expand “Databases” item. Find database “MillArchiveModel”. Right click on it and select “Tasks” ‐> “Back Up…”. On “Back Up Database” screen set the following values for options:

In “Destination” section remove all items using “Remove” button.


 

 

Add new item in “Destination” section using “Add…” button. Specify path to save database backup  file.  For  example:   “C:\MPW_Database_Backup\MillArchiveModel_01_01_2013”.

 

Click “OK”. Then click “OK” on the “Back Up Database” window. Repeat backup steps for databases “MillCfg”, “MillHist” and “MillPlus”.

 

3.      Backup Millenium Enterprise files.

Copy all content (except “DB” folder) from folder where software currently installed to a new backup folder.


4.      Upgrade Millenium Enterprise files

Extract package with upgrade files from the archive (it should have name like 5.0.35xx.zip). Replace existing files in Millenium Enterprise folder (MPW folder) with new one from upgrade package.

5.      Upgrade database (only for server)

If version of software earlier than 5.x.xxxx.x (for example 4.x.xxxx.x) first you will need to run upgrade script from version 4 to version 5.

Run SQL Server Management Studio and connect to SQL Server you are using with Millenium Enterprise. In package with upgrade find file “UpgradeToVersion4‐5.sql”. Open this file dragging it to the Management Studio window.

Important note: make sure that the user you are connecting to SQL Server has enough rights to execute query.

Press “Execute” button.

 

 

To upgrade database to a latest version find file “UpgradeToVersion5.x.xxxx.sql” (where 5.x.xxxx is the number of latest version) in upgrade package. Open this file the same way as previous and execute script.

 

6.      Run MPW.exe
